Who I am

Hi I'm Chris Jenkins, a UK based software engineer that tends to work remotely from London. I started dabbling with the web when I was 11 and I've been building websites ever since. I have over 12 years of professional experience in building and maintaining websites as well as getting them seen by search engines. I've built sites that handle millions of traffic on a monthly basis, complex web apps and digital transformation projects.I've worked with startups, small businesses, scaleups, enterprises and everything in between. No project is too small or too big.

I can also sit with founders, PMs, and designers. Working from discovery to delivery. I've built sites that handle millions of traffic on a monthly basis. I can work solo or jump into a team.

I'm also one of three co-founders at Obsidian Worlds. I lead the frontend and help decide what we build. We talk to users and structure the roadmap based on their feedback.

Who I work with

Founders and small businesses

Have a site you need to build or rebuild? I'll get what I need to build it and then when it's ready and you're happy with it we'll get it out there. Having a great website is the goal but if noone can find it, it's not much use. I can also help you with SEO and marketing to get it seen by more people.

Product teams

I can join or lead a squad. I've coordinated frontend delivery across several teams, line-managed developers and QA, run 1-1s and reviews, and mentored. I put automated tests in the pipeline. I'm comfortable reviewing code and providing feedback.

I've led teams of 3-10 developers both within a company and on-site at a client's site.

  1. Obsidian Worlds2025-
    Co-founder. I lead the front-end and help shape the product on a live community hosting platform.
  2. AnyJunk2023-2026
    Senior front-end. Next.js rebuild of the main site. Coordinated a legacy-to-React and TypeScript migration across seven-plus teams. Defined a shared component library, Manny.
  3. Archie / Eliga2020-2023
    Senior developer. Coordinated frontend delivery across teams. Line-managed developers and QA.
  4. Fidelity International2019-2020
    Contract. Led a greenfield React rebuild of the Global Workplace Investing app, including WCAG work.
  5. AIG Life2019
    Contract. Direct Line and Churchill life-insurance journeys, to a tight launch.
  6. Fidelity International2017-2019
    Contract. Frontend migration to Django CMS across the UK, Germany, Hong Kong, and Japan sites. Built the German Fund Finder in React.
  7. Moonfruit2016-2017
    Full stack. Migrated the core product from Flash to React, and delivered a full website rebrand with responsive design.
  8. BCSG2014-2016
    Front-end. Angular.js SaaS for enterprise clients including Deutsche Bank, EE, Santander, and MasterCard.
